When contacting a client who has enquired with you about insurance, making the right introduction can be the difference between a conversion and being abruptly hung up on.

Here you will find sample introduction scripts for home and protection insurance advisers to help you make the best first impression with your customers.

Home insurance intro script

"Hello, it’s [your name] calling from [your firm's name if applicable] in relation to the home insurance enquiry you made - how are you today?

"Just to explain, I am a qualified home insurance advisers and your details have been passed through to me. I am an independent insurance broker, who offers a comprehensive range of policies from across the market. I have access to some of the cheapest policies on the market, including some exclusive deals.

"What type of insurance were you looking for today?"

Once the client has anwered, follow up with...

"Great, I can help with that...I have some basic details that have come through to me, so if I can take some further details I can take a look to see which is the cheapest and most comprehensive policy for you."

Add the following disclaimer for compliance purposes...

"Just to let you know calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes and [your firm's name if applicable] are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for mortgage and insurance business [assuming you are regulated]."

Protection insurance intro script

If the enquity is from a new lead who is looking for protection insurance, begin as follows...

"Hello, it’s [your name] calling from [your firm's name if applicable] in relation to the insurance enquiry you made - how are you today?

"Just to explain, I’m the protection adviser and your details have been passed to me to discuss your insurance needs, I have access to a comprehensive range of insurers from across the market.

Add the following for compliance purposes...

"Just to let you know that calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes and [your firm's name if applicable] are authorised and regulated by the FCA for mortgage & insurance business [assuming you are regulated]."

If the lead came from an existing customer who took out a mortgage with your firm, start with the following...

"Hello, it’s [your name] calling from [your firm's name if applicable] in relation to the mortgage we recently arranged for you.

"Just to explain, I’m the protection adviser here at [your firm's name if applicable] and your details have been passed to me to look at protecting the mortgage for you. I have access to a comprehensive range of insurers from across the market."

Add the following for compliance purposes...

"Just to let you know that calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes and [your firm's name if applicable] are authorised and regulated by the FCA for mortgage & insurance business [assuming you are regulated]."
